A storm brews over our type-in at the park.
Peter tries out his Triumph Tippa.
My typecast on the spot. We didn't take along the Galaxie because I was sure Peter had had enough of typing on it for a while!
Perfect picnic-sized portables.
Oh, well, I suppose I should put up a picture of myself as well. More on Peter's blog, including me blending remarkably well into my couch!
This is just great, Adwoa! I love reading about the same event from two angles. It's so good to see that Peter managed to soak-in (pun intended!) with you guys in Zurich and Geneva. And that is one inter-continental typewriter swap you did! How nice of Peter to hand-carry the Galaxie; you're equally generous to host him and present a Tippa. As I mentioned to Florian, I might fly to the Netherlands next year for a conference; will try my darndest to do a Swiss side-trip.
ReplyDeleteI've seen that cursive typeface in one of Peter's old posts, it's spectacular!
You're right, those are perfect picnic typewriters. Looks like a very pleasant meeting.
ReplyDeleteA great skirt! (Yes, I can add comments now!!)
ReplyDeleteGood job you didn't have my IKEA couch, which is a very dull brown...
Fantastic! That Galaxie really experienced quite a journey. Oh, and feel free to tell me if you grow tired of that Scritp typeface... ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's a very cool cursive typeface. It has a fun, happy swirl to it, and it's very casual and natural-looking. I was amazed just to see cursive typefaces existed in the first place (which is why I searched for one as well), but that one is the most unique I've yet seen.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see you two typing together. And what a nice typeface on this Galaxie! Bon voyage Peter, and see you soon Adwoa! Peter made the Swiss typosphere a very busy place these last 10 days, it's thanks to his great planning that we all had our meetings - definitely a great tour de Suisse!
ReplyDeleteI had a great time with all the Swiss Typosphere! The trip is highly recommended for typewriter enthusiasts. This was a nice park too, we got a few drops of rain while we ate but it stopped for the typing.
ReplyDeleteOh hey! Great photos. I love it when I can put faces to people I've seen writing on here. I try to imagine them, often not guessing even close to correct.
ReplyDeleteSeems everyone has been having a great time. It is good to see typing in the park. It seems such a relaxing and inspiring place to type. Congratulations on the Galaxie, They are nice machines. I still I do not know if I want to get a machine with the same script typeface. I have my thoughts on one.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a great cursive typeface, I love it when the ink makes the letters so dark that you can see the texture of the ribbon :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a bunch of fun get togethers. Now I can't wait for Peter to get back in the states so I can have my Words with Friends buddy back:)
ReplyDeleteIt's always wonderful to read about these type-ins -- a chance for folks in the Typosphere, sometimes far-flung on every side of the globe, to actually MEET in person!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful spot for a type-in! Very nice report and photos. I've been thoroughly enjoying playing along at home.
