RTTA: I dream lo-tech edition

You all know who Ton is, I'm pretty sure, but if not this is the time to head over to I dream lo-tech and discover all his fantastic typecasts and superb photography, with lots of the items he discusses in this post displayed - particularly Mid-Century Modern furniture and objects. His new Triumph Perfekt - and cursive at that - is a beauty!

  1. Congratulations on the move! The last 3 times I moved it was courtesy of the company where I worked: movers came, packed everything, loaded the truck, took it to the new house and all I needed to do was tell them where I wanted what at the new location. However when I was first married we moved 5 times in 2 years!

Very nice Graphika. The typeface is beautiful.

Did you see the sewing machine in the Chestnut Ridge Typewriter MuseumChestnut Ridge Typewriter Museum? I forgot to comment that there was even something special there for Adwoa.

    1. Oh, that sounds luxurious! Fortunately we weren't moving too far - just a 15-minute drive - so even though there was some heavy lifting involved it didn't feel too tedious and I recovered quickly. In no hurry to do it again (not to mention the furniture wouldn't survive another assembly!), but so glad it was not too bad.

I looked at the post you linked to but I am so dazzled by all the typewriters I can't for the life of me spot the sewing machine!

  4. Many thanks for this, Adwoa, it's strange to see my answers posted in another's blog. ( :
I chose the Graphika for a very good reason, eh?

I just moved myself so I can definitely relate; typing again was one of the things that helped ground me in my new digs.

I never tire of the sight of the Graphika and its typeface, so I'm glad Ton chose that machine. I enjoyed this first installment of your series :)

  6. Wonderful that the move went well! Did you also finish unpacking but is there still a heap of work to do there? Luckily it's fall, a good time of the year to spent in-house, making things cozy.

    1. I wouldn't let myself type until I got rid of all the boxes, so I'm glad to say we are pretty much done on the unpacking front too! Still some unfinished areas - light fixtures to put up etc - but nothing quite as obvious as living out of cardboard containers, so I'll take my time with those. You are right, fall is a lovely time to stay inside and putter about, and I cannot wait to be productive on the weekends. Lots of cushions to sew up!
